An introduction or update to career development practice in education. This workshop covers

·Development and delivery of career services in schools. It covers secondary, SDS, alternative settings and community-based schools.

·Understanding and using career education frameworks

·Development of career education curriculum as a whole school approach

·A day in the Life of a career practitioner

·Role and responsibilities of career practitioners including ethical practice

Understanding the Career Industry Council of Australia Industry Professional Standards for Career Development for Career Development Practitioners and the Australian Blueprint for Career Development (ABCD)

Sourcing labour market data and using it effectively to support students, teachers, and parents

·System knowledge and initiatives – education, training, and employment understanding how systems are integrated.

·Benchmarking career services – and how to evaluate and report on service delivery

·Role and importance of Professional Membership and ongoing Professional Development.

Suitable for new career practitioners in schools or people working in education seeking to become career practitioners in schools.
