The Industry Immersion Experience Program (IIEP) is funded by the Department of Education and Training and aims to connect students in Year 7 to 10 with industry to explore the world of work, and future careers.
The eligible students for this program are enrolled in rural and remote government schools and are in highly disadvantaged areas of metro Melbourne. This includes schools with a high populations of low SES and migrant and refugee families.
Our project provides industry with an opportunity to showcase their workforce and promote their services and activities to young people with an interest and aspiration to work in the industry.
The CEAV provides all the administrative support for our industry partners. We coordinate school registrations, promotion and bring the students to the worksite for the day. The students are prepared prior to the IIE day and teachers accompany the students for the full program. All students receive a hardcopy workbook, which includes activities that are mapped to the Victorian Curriculum. Students complete these activities pre and post immersion, ensuring maximum opportunity for valuable learning.
Industry partners host the students for a day and provide some hands on activities and an opportunity to speak with current employees who can provide them with information and insight into their career journey.
